A woman and a child were killed and at least 4 other injured in a multi-vehicle crash Monday night in Fontana.

The crash was reported around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Citrus Avenue, San Bernardino County Fire dispatch supervisor Otto Schramm said.

A vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Citrus when the driver ran the red light and hit two other cars, according to Fontana Police Lt. William Megenney.

The woman and child were declared dead at the scene, Megenney said.

Three others were transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition, according to San Bernardino County fire officials.

A fourth person received only minor injuries.
