Eek At The Greek- Family Friendly Fun

Allie Mac Kay was live from Griffith Park with a preview of the 3rd Annual EEK! At The Greek!, a symphonic extravaganza that will be held on Sunday, October 27, presented by the MERCEDES-BENZ Dealers of Southern California.  This family-friendly event featuring the 60-piece Symphony In The Glen Orchestra with Maestro Arthur B. Rubinstein will present a creepy collection of frightening favorites including: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Manuel de Falla’s Ritual Fire Dance, and the West Coast premiere of Wicked: A Fable for Orchestra.  Additionally, the program will showcase the return of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-tale Heart” with special guest narrator, critically acclaimed actor Stacy Keach.

Mr. Keach adds the appearance to a confluence of important new activities, led by the October 15 publication by Lyons Press his memoire “All In All: An Actor’s Life On and Off the Stage, summarizing his dramatic personal life story and his acclaimed accomplishment in theatre, film, television and spoken-word recordings. His current performance activity includes crucial role in Paramount’s prominent Oscar-contending film “Nebraska” debuting November 15, starring voice performance in Disney’s “Planes” and a continuing role in NBC’s hit series, “Sean Saves The World.”

Adding to the festivities, The Greek Theatre’s front plaza will be transformed into a “Trick-or-Treat Village,” welcoming families to bring their children for safe trick-or-treating and Halloween activities from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, including crafts, face painting and a costume contest.  The costume contest will begin at 4:00 pm in the front plaza with the finale taking place during intermission on The Greek Theatre’s main stage which will be emceed by KTLA 5 Morning News feature reporter Allie Mac Kay.

Symphony In The Glen is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization with the purpose of cultivating new generations of classical music lovers. The orchestra comprises professional musicians whose talents and skills grace the premier orchestras of Los Angeles.

On Sunday, October  27, 2013 at 3:30pm, the  “Trick-or-Treat” Village opens and pre-show costume contest begins. At 6:00pm, the concert begins followed by intermission and costume contest finale hosted by KTLA Morning News feature reporter Allie Mac Kay.
