Donate Life’s festival of lanterns illuminates how dreams are inspired by the compassion, courage and life-changing experiences of organ, eye and tissue donors and recipients. The lanterns illuminate 30 riders -– all grateful organ and tissue transplant recipients –- and 12 living kidney donors walking on foot to demonstrate their vitality post-donation. Five beautiful lamps are adorned with 81 memorial floragraph portraits of deceased donors whose gifts of life shine a light on us all. The riders are seated throughout a dedication garden filled with thousands of roses bearing personal messages of love, hope and remembrance.
