Two people were taken into custody hours after a police SWAT team responded to a man barricaded inside of an East Hollywood apartment, an LAPD spokeswoman said.

The SWAT team had been posted outside the building for several hours Monday following reports of a man with a knife, police said.
The standoff ended around 7:30 p.m. after two people came out from the apartment, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Sally Madera.
Both were transported to a local hospital and treated for unknown injuries, authorities said.
The incident is under investigation.
The man was barricaded inside a residence on the 1200 block of North Vermont Avenue (map), according to police.
The initial call about a man with a knife came in around 1:15 p.m., Madera said.
Multiple patrol cars were on scene, in addition to a SWAT truck, video from the scene showed.
Vermont Avenue was blocked off with police tape during the confrontation.
