One of four male occupants was initially trapped inside the vehicle after it crashed at 8:47 p.m. in the 9300 block of Glenoaks Boulevard (map), according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. He was extracted by firefighters using the Jaws of Life.

The four men were transported to a local hospital, where they were to be detained pending an investigation, said Sgt. Scott Kennedy of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Community Police Station.

The extent of their injuries and their conditions were not immediately known.

Before the collision, officers had been “in pursuit of burglary suspects,” Kennedy said.
