Michael Allen McGilvery was arrested on suspicion of stabbing Jennings to death, police said. McGilvery, 44, turned himself in on Friday and was in police custody, according to an LAPD news release.

He was charged with one count of murder and one count of robbery, the release said.

McGilvery was persuaded to turn himself in by people he knew after surveillance video of the stabbing was released to the public, according to the LAPD.

The 35-year-old Jennings was walking to a store near his home after returning from his wife’s office Christmas party on the night of Friday, Dec. 20 when the stabbing occurred, relatives said.

McGilvery’s bail has been set at $1 million, according to police.
