Firefighters were battling a massive fire Thursday at a lumber yard in Pacoima.
The blaze broke out just before 8 p.m. in the 11100 block of Sutter Avenue (map). Two businesses, SB Lumber and HB Redwood were located at the lumber yard.
As of 8:20 p.m. firefighters were taking a defensive posture with the fire in an attempt to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures.
At least 106 firefighters were on the scene at the height of the blaze, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
There were power lines down in the area, but no evacuations have been issued, according to a tweet from the LAFD.
The fire forced the temporary closure of the nearby Metrolink Antelope Valley line, LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
By 8:45 p.m. the bulk of the fire had been knocked down.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the blaze was still under investigation.
