Gunman Arrested in Shooting That Left 1 Wounded Near USC: Police

A gunman who shot a man near the University of Southern California early Monday morning was taken into custody, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 12:15 a.m. in the 3100 block of Raymond Avenue (map) in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division.

The gunman opened fire, hitting the victim in a residential neighborhood about five blocks west of University Park, officials said. The wounded man was transported to a hospital in stable condition, authorities said.

The suspect took off but was located and arrested at approximately 4 a.m., according to the LAPD.
