Woman’s Body Found Next to Dumpster in Burbank Alley; Son Arrested

Police arrested a 40-year-old man Monday, just hours after his mother’s body was discovered next to a dumpster in an alley in Burbank.

The body of the 76-year-old woman was found around 10:44 a.m. in the 4000 block of West Victory Boulevard, according to Burbank police spokesman Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Police said the unidentified woman lived near-by with her son, Moises Diaz. He was booked on suspicion of murder and was being held on $1 million bail, Ryburn said.

The woman’s cause of death has not been determined pending the results of an autopsy.

Police were asking anyone who might have witnessed something unusual in the alley between 6 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday to call investigators at 818-238-3210.
