Patrick Odoikyene was shot and killed on the morning of Dec. 30 at the Shores apartments located in the 4200 block of Via Marina Court (map), the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. His body was discovered just before 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot.

Byron Keith Street, of Inglewood, was charged with murder, burglary, felony vandalism, and a felon in possession of a firearm in connection with Odoikyene’s death, according to the sheriff’s department. He was set to be arraigned on Thursday.

Prosecutors allege Street had been suspended by Odoi-Kyene for bringing his girlfriend to work.

Street was arrested on an unrelated felony fraud charge the day after the murder, authorities said.  He was currently being held without bail.
