A Los Angeles family who lost nearly everything in a fire on Christmas Day 2011 saw their home restored on Tuesday.

The Ambers’ home on Castle Heights Place in the upscale Beverlywood neighborhood was destroyed in seconds after the flame from a burning menorah lit a fire that exploded. But with the support of architects, designers and businesses in the family’s community, the Ambers were becoming the first West Coast family to live in a new, environmentally friendly “Eco-Bungalow.”

“This is much more than we could ever imagine. It’s just incredible,” Steven Amber said of his rebuilt home. “We didn’t have anything the next morning.”
