The incident occurred on Jan. 22 as the girl, who was attending an after-school program, was walking from the playground to a bathroom at about 5:30 p.m., police said.

According to the girl, the would-be abductor grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth, Sgt. Mike Kammert of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The victim got away by biting the man’s hand. She then notified school officials who called police, according to Kammert.

When police arrived, the man was already gone.

Wanted flier released by police.

The girl told police the attacker was a white man with curly salt-and-pepper hair and was wearing brown shoes with no laces.

She also described him as having a “dirty appearance” with wrinkles on his forehead and piercings or healed piercings on both ears.

She was not able to get a good look at her attacker’s entire face, police said.
