Sex Offender Sought in Connection With Deadly South L.A. Stabbing

Homicide detectives asked the public for help on Wednesday in locating a registered sex offender wanted in connection with a deadly stabbing in South Los Angeles.

The stabbing took place Jan. 23 at about 10 a.m. in a motel room on the 10400 block of South Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim, 21-year-old Robert Brewer, of Texas, was found with multiple stab wounds and died at the scene, detectives said.

Oscar Bridges, 54, was wanted in connection with the stabbing, the sheriff’s department announced at a news conference Wednesday.

Bridges, aka “Rick”, was described as a black man with a dreadlock hair style, 6 feet 2 inches tall, who weighed about 180 pounds.

He has an extensive criminal record and should be considered armed and dangerous, detectives said.

Bridges, a registered sex offender, was known to frequent motels in the Hollywood and West Hollywood areas.

He also has ties to Arizona, according to investigators.
