Someone at a home in the 13400 block of Bona Vista Lane (map) called 911 around 12:40 a.m., to report a gunman had fired shots at the house, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded and found bullet holes in the house, but no one was injured.

A short time later, investigators received word that a shooting victim was being treated at a hospital in the area.

“Apparently the male had been transported by persons unknown, dropped off at a local hospital and he was later pronounced dead,” said Lt. Dave Coleman.

Investigators believe the man’s death is related to the gunfire that was reported at the house.

Three people in the home were detained for outstanding warrants, the Sheriff’s Department said.

But no arrests were made in either shooting.

The people in the home refused to cooperate, the Sheriff’ Department said.

Anyone with information was urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. If you prefer to provide information anonymously, you may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
