Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Man in La Puente

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a man in La Puente, authorities said Saturday.

Andres Aguirre Garcia, 27, of Rowland Heights was taken into custody on Friday, according to Lt. Steve Jauch of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

“Garcia has confessed to the crime, and the murder weapon was recovered by homicide detectives,” Jauch said in a statement.

The fatal stabbing occurred about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 15900 block of Old Valley Boulevard (map), authorities said.

Deputies found a man lying in a parking lot of the location, unconscious and bleeding, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper torso. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Garcia was taken to the Sheriff’s Department’s Industry Station, where he was booked for murder, according to Jauch. Garcia is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
