Firefighters were mopping up after a second-alarm fire ripped through a vacant commercial building in Pico Rivera early Wednesday.
The fire was reported shortly after 1 a.m. near the intersection of Telegraph Road and Rosemead Boulevard (map), according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire was initially reported to be outside before it spread to the building, according to fire officials.
About 40 firefighters were battling the blaze, according to Scott Miller, an inspector with L.A. County Fire.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
“We will probably call out arson investigators just to assist with the investigation, in terms of how this fire started,” Miller said.
“That’s not say that arson is suspected at this time,” he added.
No injuries have been reported.
