The 2014 ASICS LA Marathon and its iconic “Stadium to the Sea” route is happening Sunday, March 9. Once again it starts at Dodgers Stadium and will end by the Santa Monica Pier. Runners pass many of LA’s world-famous landmarks along the way, including Walt Disney Concert HallTCL Chinese Theatre, the Sunset StripRodeo Drive and the Santa Monica Pier. Right now, the race is almost at capacity with 25,000 runners participating so don’t miss out. Go to the ASICS Website to sign up. There may also be an opportunity to run with one of our incredible charity partners. It’s a significant and celebratory year for women’s marathon running. It was 30 years ago that Joan Benoit Samuelson won the Olympic Gold Medal at the 1984 Olympics right here in Los Angeles. It was that very win that inspired other female runners to excel in the marathon, including Olympic Bronze Medalist Deena Kastor. We are so pleased we will host the 2016 Olympic Men’s and Women’s LA Marathon trials in LA – to commemorate the anniversary. Title sponsors for the race like ASICS, Nutribullet and Nestle Arrowhead water are providing some really fun interactive activities at the EXPO and during the marathon. This is one event you won’t want to miss!

ASICS LA Marathon Treadmill Challenge

The marathon treadmill is custom built and only runs at one speed, the course record pace for the LA Marathon. The course record is 2:06:35 (12.4 MPH) Using a special safety harness, fans can test themselves to see how long they can hold that pace until their legs or lungs give out. Most folks can’t make it more than a couple of minutes. The humbling fact is that elite marathoners hold that pace for over two hours. The treadmill will tour the LA and Orange County areas going to 5 locations (The Grove, 3rd St. in Santa Monica, LACC, and Finish Village) over the course of 12 days.
