5-Year-Old Killed in Accidental Shooting in Perris

Authorities in Perris were investigating the accidental shooting death of a 5-year-old child on Tuesday night.

The shooting was reported at 5:21 p.m. at a home in the 31000 block of Wolfskill Avenue, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Albert Martinez.

The child was dead by the time help arrived, Martinez said.

Detectives were interviewing family members in an effort to determine cause of shooting, Martinez tweeted.

No other information about the child was released.
