Police Evacuate Tustin Movie Theater After Report of 2 ‘Suspicious’ Males

A movie theater complex in Tustin was evacuated Saturday night after police received a report of two “suspicious males” entering the venue, authorities said.

Officers responded to the AMC Tustin 14 at The District, located at 2457 Park Avenue (map), following a call from mall security at 8:15 p.m., according to a news release issued by the Tustin Police Department. “One of the suspects was wearing a backpack,” the statement said.

The multiplex was evacuated and the two males were found inside the location along with the backpack, police said.

Moviegoers posted photos on social media that appeared to show police officers armed with rifles inside the building.

An investigation was underway.
