Man Shot in Showroom of Motorcycle Shop in Pacoima, 1 in Custody

A man who was shot while standing in the showroom of a motorcycle shop in Pacoima on Tuesday was in stable condition and the alleged shooter was in custody, according to authorities.

The shooting took place just before 10 a.m. at Casey’s Cycle shop in the 10200 block of San Fernando Road in Pacoima (map), police said.

Arriving officers found the victim had a gunshot wound in his stomach, the Los Angeles Police Department announced in a news release.

The victim and the alleged shooter knew each other and had an ongoing dispute, according to Detective Kirby Carranza of the LAPD.

There was a confrontation and then shots were fired, Carranza said.

The victim, reportedly in his 30s, was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center and was listed in stable condition after undergoing surgery, according to police.

Several minutes after the shooting, a man matching the description of the shooter walked into the front lobby of Foothill Station and turned himself in, police stated in the news release.

The possible gunman, reportedly in his 70s, was taken into custody without further incident, according to police.
