Man Found After Reported Beating, Kidnapping in Placentia

Several arrests were made after an Irvine man who was reportedly beaten and dragged into a car that sped off in Placentia was found by authorities at a home in Yorba Linda, police announced on Friday.

The attack took place in the 1100 block of East Imperial Highway (map) shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, the Placentia Police Department stated in a news release.

A witness told authorities the man was beaten by a group of men, who then dragged him into a car and sped off.

“Upon officers’ arrival, we found a significant pool of blood and some other items of evidence that indicated there was some kind of violent altercation,” police Lt. Eric Point said in an interview.

Detectives were able to find the victim, who had suffered several fractures and bruises from his attackers, at a home in Yorba Linda on Thursday, police stated in a news release.

The 49-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but was expected to survive, according to police.

Several people have been arrested in connection with the case, the news release stated.
