The incident began at about 7:40 a.m. when a man at the Terminal 7 ticket counter stated he had a bomb in his bag, according to LAX spokeswoman Amanda Parsons.

The man was taken into custody by airport police and a bomb squad from the Los Angeles Police Department was called in to check out a package he left behind, Parsons said.

The Terminal 7 ticketing level was partially evacuated during the investigation, according to Parsons.

There was no word on how many people were impacted or if any flights were delayed.

The bag was cleared and the evacuation was lifted as of 8:55 a.m., according to Parsons.
