A man was arrested Friday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old Claremont girl, according to police.

The Claremont Police Department released this sketch on March 27, 2014 of a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in Claremont.

The girl was home alone when Joseph Chandler Davall, of Yucca Valley, allegedly entered the home between 10:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on March 21 and assaulted her, according to a news release from the Claremont Police Department at the time.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles County crime lab notified the department that it had identified the alleged perpetrator using evidence found at the crime scene, and detectives obtained a search warrant for Davall’s home by the following day, according to a Claremont Police Department news release.

Officers attempted to stop Davall while he was driving just before 7 a.m., but he led them on a 1-mile chase that ended at his home. He was arrested there.

The search warrant was used to recover additional evidence from Davall’s home, according to the release.

He was being held on $100,000 bail, the news release stated.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies assisted in the arrest.
