The incident was reported about 2 a.m. in the area of West Temple Street and Micheltorena Street (map), Sgt. Acosta of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The cab driver and another man, apparently a client, got into a fight near a night club, which was broken up by security guards, Acosta said.

When police arrived, they noticed that the man the cab driver was fighting with had “minor” stab wounds in the lower abdomen, according to Acosta.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The cab driver was taken into custody and booked on an assault with a deadly weapon charge, Acosta said.

It was unclear why the two men were fighting.
