Officers received a call around 10:30 p.m. about a woman screaming at the Madison Hotel, according to Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Salguero.

When police arrived at the hotel, which is located in the 400 block of East 7th Street (map), they discovered a body inside a third room hotel room.

A “person of interest” was still at the scene and was detained by police, Salguero said.

It was not immediately clear how the victim died. That person’s identity has not yet been released.

The Madison Hotel is a residential hotel that offers month-to-month rentals of single room units, according to its website.
