Man Shot to Death in East Los Angeles; Gunman Sought

Homicide detectives were investigating a shooting that left one man dead on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting was reported in the 900 block of Kern Avenue (map) around 1:30 a.m., a news release from the sheriff’s department stated.

The unidentified victim, described only as a 23-year-old male,was walking down Kern Avenue when he was shot, according to the release.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, the release stated.

It was not known what the motive for the shooting was. No arrests have been made.

Authorities have not released any other information about the shooting.
