The collision occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on Fletcher Drive just north of Larga Avenue (map), according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division.

An 18-year-old pedestrian who had been crossing Fletcher Drive — a busy four-lane street — was struck by an unidentified driver who did not stop to render aid. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk, according to LAPD.

The teen remained in the hospital Thursday with severe injuries, according to police.

The vehicle, described only as a light-colored BMW, was last seen traveling northbound on Fletcher Drive, according to LAPD.
