1 Dead, 1 Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Orange; Driver Sought

Police were searching Wednesday for a driver after a hit-and-run collision in the city of Orange left one man dead and a woman injured, authorities said.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash shortly before 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Tustin Street and Taft Avenue (map), according to the Orange Police Department.

One of the vehicles rolled over as a result of the crash, ejecting two passengers that were inside, Orange police Sgt. Scott Trauch said.

A man in his 20s was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Trauch. His identity has not yet been released.

An 18-year-old woman was injured and rushed to the hospital in stable condition, Trauch said.

The driver of the other vehicle did not stop and left the scene, according to Orange police Lt. Dennis Gomez.

An investigation was underway into the cause of the crash.
