Angie Diamond was booked on suspicion of murder in the death of her mother, Margaret Mae Rion.

A relative alerted authorities Tuesday evening after the 57-year-old Rion was found unresponsive around 6:30 p.m. in her residence in the 4100 block of Maybank Avenue (map), according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Diamond allegedly told detectives that she murdered her mother following an argument, sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

The murder weapons, a hammer and knife, were recovered at the victim’s home, officials said.

Diamond was being held on $1,000,000 bail.

Anyone with information was asked to call the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
