Detectives were posing as a juvenile girl on a social media website as part of an unrelated investigation when 52-year-old Billy McCullough allegedly contacted the girl and asked her how old she was, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

After being informed that the girl was 15, McCullough allegedly sent a nude picture of his genitals and then asked the girl to meet with him so they could have sex, according to the release.

McCullough set up a meeting for Thursday in Whittier, where he allegedly planned to pick up the girl so they could run away together for a few days, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

McCullough was instead met by detectives and was placed under arrest on suspicion of soliciting a minor for sex.

McCullough allegedly had a “loaded” hypodermic syringe, a glass meth pipe and a bag of methamphetamine when he was arrested, the Sheriff’s Department stated.

Bail for McCullough was set at $1,000,000.

Anyone with further information about the investigation was asked to contact the Highland Detective Division at 909-425-9793.
