Firefighters Employ Unique Rescue Technique to Free Stuck Puppy

Kern County firefighters were faced with a unique rescue situation Friday afternoon that required a delicate touch and some creativity.

Firefighters at station 41 in East Bakersfield were called upon to extricate a puppy that got its head stuck in a vehicle rim, according to a post on the Kern County Fire Department’s Facebook page.

The puppy and the rim were brought to the Victor Street station by a local resident.

Using cooking oil and a little ingenuity, firefighters were able to safely free the puppy, the post stated.

Firefighters posted “before and after” pictures on their Facebook page.
