Pedestrian Robbed, Shot Near River in Santa Ana; 3 Sought

Authorities were searching for three people who robbed and shot a pedestrian in Santa Ana Friday morning.

The incident happened near the Santa Ana River on West 17th Street and North King Street (map) at about 11 a.m., according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

The three robbers, believed to be gang members, fled the scene after robbing and shooting the victim, Bertagna said.

The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, according to Bertagna.

There was an ongoing search for the robbers, Bertagna said.

No further information was immediately available.
