Man Dies From Possible Smoke Inhalation During Hawthorne Home Fire

A man was found dead from possible smoke inhalation after firefighters extinguished a blaze at a Hawthorne home Sunday, according to officials.

Deputies responded to reports of smoke coming from a residence in the 500 block of West 135th Street (map) around 8:30 a.m., according to a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department news release.

L.A. County Fire Department officials extinguished the fire and discovered the body in the home’s living room during an inspection.

Authorities were investigating the fire.
