1 Dead After Shooting in Pomona Motel Parking Lot; Gunman at Large

An investigation was underway after a 48-year-old man was shot and killed outside of a Pomona motel early Sunday, police said.

Officers responded to the parking lot of the Autolodge (map) after someone called 911 to report hearing gunshots there just before 1 a.m., according to a Pomona Police Department news release.

When police arrived, they discovered a man lying on the ground who had been shot in the chest, the release stated.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No arrests have been made in the case. Police have asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the department’s Detective Bureau at 909-620-2085.
