Lake Elsinore Man Arrested After Allegedly Sexually Assaulting 11-Year-Old Girl

A 47-year-old Lake Elsinore man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, and authorities were looking for any possible additional victims, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said on Friday.

Lionel A. Morones was arrested following an investigation that began this month into the sexual assault of a child in Lake Elsinore, a news release from the Sheriff’s Department stated.

He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on charges of sodomy with a person under 14, lewd acts on a child under 14, oral copulation of a minor and sexual penetration of a person between the ages of 10 and 14, according to county inmate records.

Morones was being held on $3 million bail, inmate records showed. His next court appearance was scheduled for July 29.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department was continuing an investigation into Morones, and were seeking additional victims.
