Tustin Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Kidnap Woman at Gunpoint

Tustin police recently arrested a man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman at gunpoint, the department stated Thursday.

A woman was preparing to go for a jog when a man brandished a handgun and ordered her into his vehicle on Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Champion Way (map), the Tustin Police Department stated.

The man drove away in a black Lexus after the woman refused to enter the vehicle and said she would call 911.

Detectives gathered information about the man’s identity and located him at his residence Wednesday. A Lexus and handgun matching the description of the crime were also located.

David Mussehl, a 43-year-old Tustin resident, was arrested and booked into the Orange County jail for attempted kidnapping, exhibiting a firearm and assault with a deadly weapon.
