3.0-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Carpinteria, Santa Barbara

A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Carpinteria Friday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake shook the area around 10:38 p.m., and was about four miles south of Carpinteria, 11 miles southeast of Santa Barbara and 14 miles northwest of Ventura.

No damage was reported.
