Man Shot to Death in Norwalk; Shooter Sought

An investigation was underway Monday night after a man was fatally shot in Norwalk, authorities said.

Homicide detectives responded to the 12700 block of Rexton Street (map) around 3:45 p.m. to investigate the shooting, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release stated.

Witnesses told detectives they heard arguing and then the sound of gunfire coming from a residence.

The victim was seen walking from the rear of the residence and onto the street. He made it about a block before he collapsed, according to the release.

The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No further details were immediately available.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
