Officers spotted a man near the Imperial Courts housing project at 11541 Croesus Ave. in Watts (map) and attempted to take him into custody in connection to a shooting one week prior when the pursuit began around 1:30 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Nuria Vanegas said.

At one point the SUV entered the 105 Freeway then traveled north on the 110 Freeway before crashing in the intersection of South San Pedro Street and East Manchester Avenue in the Florence area (map) around 2 p.m., according to multiple tweets by the LAPD Southeast Division.

Multiple ambulances were requested to help with possible injuries sustained during the crash and one of the men was taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

A second man was booked at the LAPD Southeast Division on unknown charges.
