On  SATURDAY, October 11, 2014, The Los Angeles Police Department will be honoring LAPD SWAT Officer Randy Simmons in their 7th Annual 5K RUN,  BIKE RIDE  AND CROSSFIT CHALLENGE.  Officer Randy Simmons was the first LAPD SWAT Officer to be killed in the line of duty.  He was an extraordinary police officer, a positive role model and a constant mentor for “at risk” youth.  In honor of his humanitarian spirit, LAPD’S Metropolitan Division has an Annual 5k Run, Bike Ride and Crossfit Challenge to support The Randal D. Simmons Outreach Foundation.  It’s mission is to help provide assistance to kids and their families in underserved areas of Los Angeles County. We are asking viewers to partner with LAPD and The Randal D. Simmons Outreach Foundation in an effort to help continue Randy’s legacy of outreach to children. It’s important to note that the foundation is a 501(C) 3 nonprofit organization, thus making all donations tax deductible.    We are also asking businesses to participate  by means of sponsorship or perhaps donate a gift or a raffle prize to this worthwhile event.

You can also visit the foundation’s website or go to Facebook and type in Randy Simmons 5k run.
