Four people sustained minor injuries when a California Highway Patrol car and two vehicles collided in a Compton intersection early Sunday morning, causing one car to slam into a brick wall.

The crash occurred around 3 a.m. at the intersection of West Alondra Boulevard and North Wilmington Avenue (map), officials said.

A preliminary investigation found a red-light violation may have caused the crash.

A third car became involved when one of the two original vehicles that collided deflected and crashed into it, CHP Officer Greg Hall said.

The CHP officer was not believed to be at fault, according to preliminary reports.

Two officers involved in the crash said they felt pain and two others were transported to a hospital.
