A 14-year-old girl reported missing from Corona was found safe Thursday in the apartment of an older man in the San Diego neighborhood of Talmadge.

The teenager dialed 911 around midnight on Wednesday, but couldn’t tell the dispatcher where she was, according to San Diego police.

So, officers tracked her location using the GPS on her phone.

When they arrived at the apartment, officers saw the girl banging on a window and crying.

Officers found the man inside a locked garage.

He was taken into custody and the teenager was returned to her mother.

Investigators were trying to determine how the girl and the man knew each other.
