Homicide Investigators Search for Shooter Who Killed Woman in Compton Home

Investigators were searching Friday for whoever fatally  shot a woman at a home in Compton on Christmas night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 1450 W. 154th St. (map), leaving a young woman dead, Sheriff’s Department Lt. Angel Fisher said.

A preliminary investigation indicated the gunfire originated from an unknown location outside the home, the Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release Friday.

The victim was found dead with a gunshot wound to her upper torso.

The incident was not believed to be the result of a domestic dispute, Fisher said Thursday evening.

No information was available about the killer, and a Homicide Bureau investigation was ongoing.
