4 Children, 1 Adult Hospitalized After Being Struck by Car in South Los Angeles

Police were investigating a crash involving a car that struck five pedestrians, including four children in South Los Angeles on Friday evening.

The crash occurred around 3:53 p.m. near 79th and Hoover streets while the group was walking in a crosswalk, according to Sgt. Thomas Bojorquez with the Los Angeles Police Department.

A vehicle making a southbound turn collided with them, Bojorquez said.

All five patients were transported to UCLA Harbor in stable condition, according to Bojorquez.

The driver did stop at the scene and was not arrested.

Alcohol was not a factor, according to Bojorquez.

The victims were described as a 36-year-old woman, two boys aged 10 and 4 and two little girls also aged 10 and 4.
