Amtrak Train Collides With Vehicle Near Intersection in Camarillo; No Injuries Reported

An Amtrak train collided with a vehicle Sunday night in Camarillo, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The crash occurred near the intersection of East Fifth Street and Pleasant Valley Road (map), according to Capt. Mike Lindbery of the Ventura County Fire Department.

Eighty-five people were on the train at the time, and two people were in the vehicle, Lindbery said on Twitter.

The occupants on the train were assessed for possible injuries. The vehicle’s driver and passenger exited before the collision, the Fire Department said.
