Man Hospitalized After Being Shot in Forehead in Boyle Heights Area

A man in his 20s was hospitalized early Monday morning after being shot in the forehead in the Boyle Heights area, authorities said.

Few details were immediately available about the shooting, which the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said occurred about 3:35 a.m. at the Ramona Gardens housing project in the 2600 block of Medford Street (map).

The shooter fled the scene and and remained at large.

The victim was found conscious and breathing after the incident, said Sgt. Barrigan of the sheriff’s Hollenbeck station. The unidentified man was transported to a hospital, where his condition was unknown.

The motive for the shooting was unclear, the sergeant said.
