An Orange County motorcycle deputy was hospitalized following a crash on the 57 Freeway in Diamond Bar Thursday.

The crash occurred at about 6 a.m. near the South Brea Canyon Road offramp (map) and forced the closure of three lanes on the southbound side of the 57 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident log.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed the deputy’s heavily damaged motorcycle lying on the freeway.

“He was transported to hospital. Sounds like non-life threatening injures,” Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.

The Sheriff’s Department later tweeted that the deputy’s injuries were minor.

It was unclear if any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
