Male Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck in Rialto Hit-and-Run

Police on Saturday morning were searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a male pedestrian on a street in Rialto, authorities said.

The collision was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Friday on Foothill Boulevard, just east of Cedar Avenue (map), said Sgt. David Sheperd of the Rialto Police Department.

Officers arrived to find the victim in the roadway. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died, Sheperd said. His name was not immediately released.

Witnesses at scene told investigators that a light blue car, possibly a Chrysler 300, drove away after striking the pedestrian.
