A juvenile has been detained in an investigation into death threats made on social media against a San Dimas middle school student, authorities said Monday.

Few details were released about the development, which was announced in a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The case will be submitted to the Juvenile Division of the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, “with charges to follow,” the statement said.

“There is nothing further to add at this time due to the age of the party involved,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
