A Pasadena Police Department motorcycle officer was airlifted to a trauma center Monday after colliding with a vehicle on the 210 Freeway in Upland, authorities said.

The crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway, just west of Campus Avenue (map), Caltrans said on Twitter.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone in the vehicle was injured in the collision.

The motorcycle officer was on his way home from work at the time of incident, said Pasadena police Lt. John Luna. He was listed in stable condition at the hospital.

Three eastbound lanes were closed at the crash site, according to Caltrans.
